down to Simplest term: HDMI has wider compatibility. Displayport: faster, wider bandwidth, better option if it is available.

I think i had to pick Display for my curved 144 htz 2k HDR Monitor, cannot remember why, was brain storming it 2 years ago.

computer man didn't answer the question he has three display ports that run in parallel settings so he can use 3 displays the single HDMI uses one display with different settings Savvy!

The real answer to this question for those who ACTUALLY want to know, is look for the version of HDMI/Displayport being used. This will determine which is better

So he's not going to explain anything huh? Ok, so Display port is the superior port but it's not as common since it's newer. It supports higher bandwidth data which means higher resolution with less compression and higher frame rates. HDMI is just more used because it's been out longer.

So hmdi is the reason high refresh costs more?
