he has three display ports that run in parallel settings so he can use 3 displays
the single HDMI
uses one display with different settings

So he's not going to explain anything huh? Ok, so Display port is the superior port but it's not as common since it's newer. It supports higher bandwidth data which means higher resolution with less compression and higher frame rates. HDMI is just more used because it's been out longer.
