Honestly the rule kinda makes sense, and without it you'd end up with weird shit where outfielders try to catch a fly ball in their jersey instead of their glove because it's easier

If the pitcher didn’t twist his body, then the ball would of definitely hit his ribs…when he made the twist, the ball went into his shirt possibly grazing his body on the side and it got caught by the back side of his shirt…just wow

That rule is the baseball equivalent of keeping that one specific piece of wood in your garage for 20 years. I know that if the person who wrote that rule saw this they would be overjoyed.
