Ack in the day, we didn’t need to be spoon fed reasons or story lines to enjoy and understand the plot. Mansplaining everything just makes you sound like a fuckwit. Connor killed the Kurgan with the Katana because he used and kept it after Ramirez died. He always has it with him.

I really hope there's lots of cameos of the original cast. Just seeing someone in the background watching a James Bond movie, like Christopher Lambert and Adrian Paul. Clancy Brown as the priest in the church scene. Rachel played by the original Brenda or Heather MacLeod. Things like that.

The Kurgon didn't kill Connor Macloud's wife after killing Ramirez. She died of old age and never told Connor what the Kurgon did to her.

The Kurgan did not kill Heather in the original movie (9:35). She died, an old woman, with Connor by her side asking him to light a candle on her birthday as a remembrance of her.

You made a slight mistake at 9:30 mark; While Ramirez was killed by the Kergan, Connor's wife was not. They show her passing away from old age later.
