Must've been an adult then. Most species of snake, the babies can't throttle their venom and always bite with full injection, intended or no.

copperheads aren't rare lol, in NC alone over here if you go walking in the woods you'll see at least one, they're somewhat common, they're the only snakes I see aside from water snakes

I am so glad he asked if they were going to kill it because I would ask the same thing, even if it had bit me I still wouldn’t want the poor guy to be killed ESPECIALLY if I thought I was bit because of accidentally stepping on its tail.

I remember when my English bull mastiff protected my step father from a cotton mouth snake (snake bit him 4 times) and after 10 minutes his liver and kidney were failing. I remember crying so much while Bo was wagging his tail while he was swelling up

That's something I would worry about cuz copperheads aren't even like non-native there. I think they got kicked out and the fact that their back is a good sign and killing it ain't going to do anything. It's not like it's going to take the bite away respect to that guy for worrying about the snake …
