He is speaking of the main SOUTHERN Shaolin temple in Yunnan. Like many other such Shaolin temples, it has been destroyed many times since 495 AD and rebuilt each time. A Shaolin temple is just a group of buildings. The monks and disciples as well as the teachings of Shaolin survived.
